I got a question for Chapter 1.

"A different type of false perception occurs when a change in objective reality would threaten the individual or class interests of the perceiver" (pp. 52)

I don't quite understand what is meant by this, so if anyone could help me out, that'd be great.

hm i read your comment yesterday and thought id give it some time to sink in.. i read the page to get some contextual hints but i'm still pretty unsure what it means.. i'll give it another read and try to focus, but i don't think it's really that important, Friere repeats himself a hell of a lot so he's probably worded the same thing differently somewhere else.

will get back on some comments of my own...

Yeah I did the same thing too and re-read the page to get some more contextual information. You are probably right on the fact that it's probably not that important since Friere does have the tendancy to repeat himself quite frequently..it never hurts to ask though.
